Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Gapwire ("Gapwire," "we," "us"), operated by Probably Smart, collects and uses information when you use https://gapwire.probablysmart.com.

Information we collect

• Account data — name, email or username, and password (stored hashed) when you sign up.
• Workspace / brand data — product name, intended or owned X handle, website, topics, competitors, reports, and related settings you enter.
• X ownership + Activity — when you Connect X or complete an Agency claim, we receive your X user id and username to prove handle ownership. With your consent (OAuth scopes including offline access), we store encrypted X access and refresh tokens so we can subscribe to real-time Activity events (your posts, mentions, and inbound likes). You can disconnect X to revoke access and delete those tokens. We also store Activity-derived post stubs, competitor posts, mentions, and like events used in weekly reports.
• Billing data — processed by Stripe; we store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, not full card numbers.
• Usage and security logs — IP address, approximate request metadata, and product activity logs used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

How we use information

• Provide topic intelligence, reports, and workspace features.
• Verify that a workspace owns the claimed X handle.
• Process subscriptions and respond to support requests.
• Secure the service (authentication, rate limits, fraud prevention).

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share data with processors that help run Gapwire (for example hosting, database, email, Stripe, and the official X API) under contractual safeguards, or when required by law.

Retention

We retain account and workspace data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, billing, and legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated workspaces by contacting us.

Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, session controls, and access restrictions for admin tools. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your choices

• Update profile and workspace settings in the product.
• Disconnect X ownership from a workspace (or via a one-time disconnect link after an Agency claim).
• Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable.
